The Changes That Happen To Those Who Follow Jesus
Text:  John 4: 27 - 30; 39-42

  • Jesus is not just interested to give information but offer transformation
  • Growth and change are natural to those that are born again
  • People around you can tell if you are a follower of Jesus or not

TEXT:  John 4:27-30; 39 - 42 (NIV)

27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”
28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.
.....
39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers.
42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

Questions:
1.  What was the former condition of the Samaritan woman (vs 1-26)
2.  What changes can you identify in the woman's life based on what we have read?  (Make your comments below)

Bible Study: How can transformation really happen
1.  The first step to have a relationship with God is to:
  • Admit that you are a sinner (Rom. 3:23; Acts 2:38, Repent)
  • Believe that Jesus is the only God's son (Acts 4:12)and the only way (John 14:6)
  • Confess with your mouth (Rom. 10:9) and your life that Jesus is Lord (Eph. 2:10)
2.  The next step is to pursue your love relationship with God
  • Keep planting the seed  (Luke 8:11-15; 1 Pet 2:2)
  • Keep watering the ground of your heart  (Luke 8:8; John 16:7-11)
  • Keep the weeds from growing and overtaking your heart; keep your plant life pruned (John 15:2)
  • Identify the fruits that grow in your life (Galatians 5:19-23)

CONCLUSION:

1.  What do you want God to change in your life?
2.  Name some initial steps you will do for the HS to work on?
